Can Driving Condition's Affect My Transmission?
Yes, extreme cold or hot weather combined with poor driving conditions can impact a transmission's life expectancy. When seldom driven or usually driven short distances, vehicles may be subject to unusual wear or strain. An example would be vehicles that are normally driven a short distance normally never have the chance for the engine to heat up to the normal heat range, the result of which can be excessive engine wear.
It was nice to deal with a business that cares and makes the customer feel like they can ask questions.

Over all I must say that I am very thankful for their service and their professionalism and I feel like they cherish their customers and are passionate about doing a good job.
Lionel Nwike of Wadsworth Ohio
"Came in to Jim & Son's per referral to fix my broken manual transmission. I was aware that it would not be cheap to get it replaced so initially I asked for an estimate. Dan and Max accurately quoted the job and answered all the questions I had. I dropped of my car and was given a rental for for the week that they needed to complete the work. In the end Max was able to rebuild my transmission which saved me some money and I was given a good warranty with job. I came back once again to change transmission fluid, because it shifted a little unsmoothly in cold weather, which they gladly took care of. Over all I must say that I am very thankful for their service and their professionalism and I feel like they cherish their customers and are passionate about doing a good job. Thanks to the whole team and to Beverly in front for your help. I strongly recommend Jim & Son's for any future customer."
Without a doubt the most impressive experience I have had at an auto repair shop ever.
Mike Thompson of Akron Ohio
"I found Jim and Sons on the internet was very impressed with the reviews I read. I called every other shop imaginable and was not impressed by a single one. Called and talked to Max and came away very impressed. Scheduled the tranny service for my KIA. Had a load of questions and concerns and was not only assured it was the right thing to do, but I also came away with a vast amount of knowledge about these newer tranmissions and how they fuction and why they need regular serviceing. At a very reasonable price. I felt very comfortable there. I have read a lot on the correct procedure on how to service a tranny and i can tell you Jim and Sons does it the correct way. It was amazing to me how nasty the fuid coming out of a transmission with less than 50,000 miles was. The car shifts buttery smooth now; the difference is astonishing. Beverly is a real cool cat. Without a doubt the most impressive experience I have had at an auto repair shop ever."

"Thank you for the resurrection of my Honda CRV. The transmission went out on it and after getting an estimate from another garage I had it brought into Jim & Sons. They towed the car, diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate and even had it towed back to my house. At first we were going to just sell it as the cost was hard to swallow for a 2001 with 175K miles BUT with their estimate was a comment that the rest of the car was in very good shape and would last as long as the transmission. After deciding on the fix they towed it back to the shop - FREE OF CHARGE - and advised me of the updated estimate after then got into it. The fixed it in record time and even fixed a couple of other issues for the cost of the parts only. The car runs and handles like new. THANKS GUYS for saving me another car payment and giving new life AND VALUE to my CRV!"

Coy Cruse of Rock Hill South Carolina
"February two years ago I found myself in your community due to a lose in our family. While there my transfer case locked up and rendered my Tahoe immobile, four states away from home. Jim & Sons took fantastic care of my needs and had me back on the road within hours. Max Currier was my service advisor. He, Bev and the entire staff were caring of my situation, courteous and very professional. I would strongly recommend Jim & Sons to anyone in upper Ohio. Thanks again, Coy Cruse"
Though i didn't need any serious work, your honest estimate speaks volume about your company.

Truly a repair shop that can be TRUSTED
Tom Adamson of Stow Ohio
"Truly a repair shop that can be TRUSTED....I took my mother's 2007 Mercury Mountaineer there after a local dealership quoted a $4,500 repair for the transmission, Jim and Sons completed the work for less than $2,300. I then decided to take my 2008 GMC 2500HD there after another dealership recommended a $2,000 repair for a re-manufactured transfer case, Max assured me he would check it out completely, after keeping me informed throughout the entire process he and his brother found some loose wire connections, fixed those and did a complete service on the transfer case ALL for less than $300.00. Truck drives fine again. They have definitely earned my trust from here on out. I cannot say enough for them and the other staff. Please don't hesitate to take your vehicle there. Thanks again,Tom Adamson"
Jim and Sons Transmission is a very honest and professional shop.
Ryan Meffley of Homerville Ohio
"Jim and Sons Transmission is a very honest and professional shop. My family has been satisfied customers of Jim & Sons since 1985. Jim has rebuilt and serviced transmissions in many vehicles over the years for my dad. I currently live an hour away, but still bring my vehicles to Jim for service. I even brought my vehicles to Jim for service when I lived in Cincinnati for 8 years. Jim has done all the transmission, transfer case, and differential services on my 2005 F150 with 173,000 miles on it. Jim's shop overhauled the rear differential in 2010 and most recently replaced the clutch pack assembly in my 2005 F150. I have been completely satisfied with all the work, and appreciate the honesty from all of Jim's employees. I highly recommend Jim & Sons in Cuyahoga Falls or Canton for any transmission or driveline repairs or service. You won't find a better shop."

"My experience with Jim and Son's Transmission was awesome. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with Wayne and Amber. In two days the transmission in my 2007 Chevrolet 3500 was rebuilt and it was back on the road. On a scale of 1 to 10, I rate this business a 10."
