I have been bringing all my transmission work to Jim & Sons Transmission for several years, and they have provided outstanding service every time. They are honest and straightforward in the repairs they recommend, and the cost is always very reasonable. They will only do what is truly needed, which is rare in the automotive repair industry. Years ago, I had an Audi 100 that had 130K miles, when the transmission started slipping. I took it to the dealership and they advised that I needed a new transmission at over $5K. At the advice of a friend, I took it to Jim & Sons. They advised that the transmission just needed to be serviced and fluids replaced. The noise which the dealer indicated was the transmission going out was a wheel bearing. The total bill from Jim & Sons was around $250! On another occasion, my transmission went out on my Yukon when returning on a vacation from South Carolina. We were stuck in Beckley WV and took the car to a local GM dealer. They advised the transmission was shot and needed to be replaced at over $4K. I called Max at Jim & Sons Transmission. Max indicated if I could get it up to their shop in Cuyahoga Falls, their specialists would inspect it and advise on repairs that would be needed. I had the Yukon towed from WV to Jim & Sons Transmission at a cost of $700. They were able to rebuild the 3rd gear at a cost of about $1500 and save the transmission. I saved over $2K taking the car the Jim & Sons. This was about 10 years ago and the car still runs great today. I would trust no one other than Jim & Sons Transmission to work on the transmissions in any of my cars, regardless of make or model, foreign or domestic. They are by far the best transmission shop around the Akron area and provide outstanding service with honesty and integrity.
