"Came in to Jim & Son's per referral to fix my broken manual transmission. I was aware that it would not be cheap to get it replaced so initially I asked for an estimate. Dan and Max accurately quoted the job and answered all the questions I had. I dropped of my car and was given a rental for for the week that they needed to complete the work. In the end Max was able to rebuild my transmission which saved me some money and I was given a good warranty with job. I came back once again to change transmission fluid, because it shifted a little unsmoothly in cold weather, which they gladly took care of. Over all I must say that I am very thankful for their service and their professionalism and I feel like they cherish their customers and are passionate about doing a good job. "Hi! My name is Dean Stevens, and I cant tell you how pleased I am with Jim and Sons Transmission! I have had my wifes Beetle to the dealer, the biggest and most well known transmission shop in the youngstown area, and twice to a foreign car shop in streetsboro! After 8 months of people telling us nothing was wrong( car slamming into gears up and downshifting) we got lucky and found jim and sons! No I did not need a new transmission like i was told by a vw guru, i just needed a valvebody in which was very reasonable! "Outstanding customer service, reasonably priced, and quality work characterize Jim & Sons Transmissions from my experience. I took my 2000 Honda Accord to them nearly two years ago to rebuild the transmission, primarily because they provided the lowest estimate and because of the good reviews I saw. I was not disappointed. They fixed the transmission for the price stated and everyone on their staff was a pleasure to work with. They kept me informed of the progress and finished the work on time. They also back their work. Most recently I had a different, intermittent issue with the same car. Although I live more than 300 miles away, I took my car to them again. They worked with me to find a rental car while they troubleshot the issue. They showed their expertise in finding and fixing the problem and were extremely fair, even though the car was outside warranty. This impressive family run business seems to care about integrity first, over profit. I wish more businesses were run like Jim & Sons Transmission."

"I brought my car to Jim and Sons in Cuyahoga Falls on recommendation from John at Dennings Auto in Kent. I am good friends with him and trust his judgement since usually its me or him that does all the work on my vehicles. I initially was impressed with the facility, definitely a nice clean shop. My 2003 Buick Lesabre had the check engine light on and was throwing transmission codes. I got at least 4 calls in the 2 days the car was there, informing me of exactly what they were doing, and giving me firm estimates of what we're looking at in price. In the end the fix ended up being somewhat simple and cost efficient. They made sure to make me aware of what the cost of the fix was going to be and what my overall cost would be including the labor costs I had already been made aware of. When I got the car back I was definitely satisfied with the repairs. I took it to e-check and it passed with no problems. In the end I was provided a quality service for an affordable price I feel. The staff at this location were also very nice and accommodating, which is appreciated. I would definitely recommend your shop and I will be coming back if I have any transmission issues."

"Truly a repair shop that can be TRUSTED....I took my mother's 2007 Mercury Mountaineer there after a local dealership quoted a $4,500 repair for the transmission, Jim and Sons completed the work for less than $2,300. I then decided to take my 2008 GMC 2500HD there after another dealership recommended a $2,000 repair for a re-manufactured transfer case, Max assured me he would check it out completely, after keeping me informed throughout the entire process he and his brother found some loose wire connections, fixed those and did a complete service on the transfer case ALL for less than $300.00. Truck drives fine again. They have definitely earned my trust from here on out. I cannot say enough for them and the other staff. "My 4 wheel drive hasn't worked in about 3 years. Finally having put the funds together to even think about getting it looked at, I sought out a garage. The important aspect was getting a garage to diagnose the problem correctly, I didn't want someone just throwing parts at it, hoping to fix the problem. Another garage recommended Jim & Sons. Dan diagnosed 2 different problems, with a cost factor for each. I will say I am amazed at the accurate diagnostics along staying true to the estimates! To further better the experience at Jim & Sons, the problems were fixed 2 days prior than expected. Although I only got to try out the 4 wheel drive in the snow for the last big snow we had, I'm impressed. Jim & Sons doesn't only fix transmissions, but axles & computer related problems as well. Thank you Dan & Amanda for keeping me updated with the expected return of my vehicle depending on availability of the parts you had to order. "I just wanted to let you know what a pleasant experience I had when I had the unfortunate event of my transmission completely failing in my 1994 Lexus ES300. First of all, this all started with me being stranded 30 miles away from home while away at work. The transmission had been acting up so I called to get an appointment for a check-up later in the week. I didn't make the appointment needless to say, the car would not move, except in reverse! I called Jim's and talked to Melissa explaining the situation and she promptly sent out a tow truck to retrieve my car. Upon delivery of the car to the shop, it was inspected and Max called me to explain that the transmission had failed and would need to be rebuilt. Understandably, with a car that had 184k miles on it, that it was time for some repairs to a transmission I never did anything to, except have the fluid replaced at regular frequency. Max explained the process, the timing of the repairs, the cost and answered my questions regarding the transmission and car. The transmission was repaired on time, as specified in the estimate, good as new. The staff at Jim & Son's Transmission were professional, courteous, and had me back on the road again as promised. I would recommend anyone that is experiencing transmission difficulties to pay a visit to Jim & Son's Transmission. I subsequently taken my two cars for transmission maintenance and I will not go anywhere else based on my first experience! Thank you Melissa, Max and staff."
