Though i didn't need any serious work, your honest estimate speaks volume about your company.
Anthony Lee of Akron Ohio
"Went to Jim and sons expecting a transmission rebuild in my F150. Turns out all I needed was a quart of transmission fluid! Though i didn't need any serious work, your honest estimate speaks volume about your company. Thanks"
Truly a repair shop that can be TRUSTED
Tom Adamson of Stow Ohio
"Truly a repair shop that can be TRUSTED....I took my mother's 2007 Mercury Mountaineer there after a local dealership quoted a $4,500 repair for the transmission, Jim and Sons completed the work for less than $2,300. I then decided to take my 2008 GMC 2500HD there after another dealership recommended a $2,000 repair for a re-manufactured transfer case, Max assured me he would check it out completely, after keeping me informed throughout the entire process he and his brother found some loose wire connections, fixed those and did a complete service on the transfer case ALL for less than $300.00. Truck drives fine again. They have definitely earned my trust from here on out. I cannot say enough for them and the other staff. Please don't hesitate to take your vehicle there. Thanks again,Tom Adamson"
Honest, professional, friendly people with a long-standing reputation.
Bob Thompson of Stow Ohio
"Took our 04 Trailblazer with a 4WD problem to Jim's based on our regular mechanic's recommendation. Very glad we did! Max called me with a preliminary diagnosis on the problem and fortunately it didn't involve any new parts or expensive labor costs. In fact, Max gave me some tips to avoid having it reoccur. Honest, professional, friendly people with a long-standing reputation."
Their pricing was MORE than reasonable. Hopefully I will not need their wonderful service on a routine basis but if I do, I will not hesitate to return to them.
Barb Knupp of Akron Ohio
"Normally when one hears the word "transmission" it is asscociated with the phrase "national debt"! This is certainly NOT the case with Jim and Sons. I found them to be very friendly, honest and accommodating in our dealing. Their pricing was MORE than reasonable. Hopefully I will not need their wonderful service on a routine basis but if I do, I will not hesitate to return to them. Thanks guys!!!"
Anybody EVER needing transmission service, you need only to go to Jim and Sons in Akron or Canton , you will never regret it!
Dean Stevens of Diamond Ohio
"Hi! My name is Dean Stevens, and I cant tell you how pleased I am with Jim and Sons Transmission! I have had my wifes Beetle to the dealer, the biggest and most well known transmission shop in the youngstown area, and twice to a foreign car shop in streetsboro! After 8 months of people telling us nothing was wrong( car slamming into gears up and downshifting) we got lucky and found jim and sons! No I did not need a new transmission like i was told by a vw guru, i just needed a valvebody in which was very reasonable! Jim and sons did their magic to our Bug and now it is perfect( no more banging and slamming) Anybody EVER needing transmission service, you need only to go to Jim and Sons in Akron or Canton , you will never regret it!"
I will be back and I will also share with everyone I know how happy I am I went there and trusted them with my car.
Jim Marsteller of Brimfield Ohio
"Just fantastic and caring customer service!! I researched Jim & Son's before I took my classic car there- after reading all the other reviews I know I made the right choice- I had the same excellent experience- from the phone call to make the appointment, thru the service to the pick up- all just excellent - HONEST RELIABLE IN AND OUT AS PROMISED with no extras- no up selling- just what the car needed and what I asked for- no surprises. Now the most honest shop I have ever been to in my 50+ years. If you are reading this and deciding whether to take your car here or elsewhere read what all the customers say. I will be back and I will also share with everyone I know how happy I am I went there and trusted them with my car."
His shop is incredibly clean and his staff is great. I can not say enough about Jim, except that I would like to steal him and have him here in D.C.

"Once again, Jim has come to my rescue. I live in Washington, D.C., and whenever I am in Akron I have Jim service the transmission on my 2004 Honda Odyssey (200,000 miles). Whenever I have an issue or question about my transmission, I call Jim. Actually, I call Jim whenever I have a question regarding my van. ... I call him from the Honda service dealer as well ... Even though I am in D.C. he is always there, professional and ALWAYS helps me. I really trust him. In 2003, Jim rebuilt the transmission on my 1998 Grand Voyager. His shop is incredibly clean and his staff is great. I can not say enough about Jim, except that I would like to steal him and have him here in D.C."

Without a doubt the most impressive experience I have had at an auto repair shop ever.
Mike Thompson of Akron Ohio
"I found Jim and Sons on the internet was very impressed with the reviews I read. I called every other shop imaginable and was not impressed by a single one. Called and talked to Max and came away very impressed. Scheduled the tranny service for my KIA. Had a load of questions and concerns and was not only assured it was the right thing to do, but I also came away with a vast amount of knowledge about these newer tranmissions and how they fuction and why they need regular serviceing. At a very reasonable price. I felt very comfortable there. I have read a lot on the correct procedure on how to service a tranny and i can tell you Jim and Sons does it the correct way. It was amazing to me how nasty the fuid coming out of a transmission with less than 50,000 miles was. The car shifts buttery smooth now; the difference is astonishing. Beverly is a real cool cat. Without a doubt the most impressive experience I have had at an auto repair shop ever."
I was treated well, and I highly recommend this shop for any drivetrain repairs you need.
Ray Woods of Akron Ohio
"I had a serious noise in the rear differential of my 2002 Blazer. With 205,000 miles on it, I was not surprised. These guys were great. Free diagnostics, and they gave me two options for the repairs. I chose and they fixed. The cost was much less than I expected. Now it is ready for another 100,000 miles. I was treated well, and I highly recommend this shop for any drivetrain repairs you need. "
