"Thank you for the resurrection of my Honda CRV. The transmission went out on it and after getting an estimate from another garage I had it brought into Jim & Sons. They towed the car, diagnosed the problem, gave me an estimate and even had it towed back to my house. At first we were going to just sell it as the cost was hard to swallow for a 2001 with 175K miles BUT with their estimate was a comment that the rest of the car was in very good shape and would last as long as the transmission. After deciding on the fix they towed it back to the shop - FREE OF CHARGE - and advised me of the updated estimate after then got into it. The fixed it in record time and even fixed a couple of other issues for the cost of the parts only. The car runs and handles like new. "Came in to Jim & Son's per referral to fix my broken manual transmission. I was aware that it would not be cheap to get it replaced so initially I asked for an estimate. Dan and Max accurately quoted the job and answered all the questions I had. I dropped of my car and was given a rental for for the week that they needed to complete the work. In the end Max was able to rebuild my transmission which saved me some money and I was given a good warranty with job. I came back once again to change transmission fluid, because it shifted a little unsmoothly in cold weather, which they gladly took care of. "Once again, Jim has come to my rescue. I live in Washington, D.C., and whenever I am in Akron I have Jim service the transmission on my 2004 Honda Odyssey (200,000 miles). Whenever I have an issue or question about my transmission, I call Jim. Actually, I call Jim whenever I have a question regarding my van. ... I call him from the Honda service dealer as well ... "Would you like to know what is wrong with Jim and Sons? Absolutely nothing! For the past two weeks I have had a horrible squealing noise coming from underneath my truck. A friend looked at it, told me it was the u-joints and offered to fix it for me. While I did appreciate his generosity, the squealing continued after his attempt. I then took my truck to a large chain auto service center to get their opinion and an estimate. Their diagnosis was also the u-joints and their estimate was through the roof. I asked another friend if he knew of an honest affordable place that I could take my vehicle. Before I could finish asking he blurted out "Jim and Sons". I set up an appointment to have my truck looked at the next day. Beverly and Max were two people that I dealt with at Jim and Sons. I do not think I have ever had a more pleasant experience dealing with anyone not only in an Auto shop but also in any service industry as I had with those two. My truck was dropped off the following day. Beverly was nice enough to drive me back to work within minutes. A few hours later Max called to let me know that my truck was ready. Not only did they save me well over $200.00, they also fixed the u-joint that my friend installed incorrectly.I would recommend Jim and Sons in a heartbeat to anyone. Do yourself a favor and go see them. You will not regret it."

Jim has rebuilt and serviced transmissions in many vehicles over the years for my dad. I currently live an hour away, but still bring my vehicles to Jim for service. I even brought my vehicles to Jim for service when I lived in Cincinnati for 8 years. Jim has done all the transmission, transfer case, and differential services on my 2005 F150 with 173,000 miles on it. Jim's shop overhauled the rear differential in 2010 and most recently replaced the clutch pack assembly in my 2005 F150. I have been completely satisfied with all the work, and appreciate the honesty from all of Jim's employees.
