There are a lot of different types of transmission maintenance services and/or flushes offered today. To have yours done properly, always make sure that a new transmission filter is installed. Almost all transmissions have a disposable filter, very similar to your engine oil filter. When you have your engine oil changed you always install a new filter. If you do not install a new filter, you are only doing half the job.
Make sure that the pan is cleaned out and all adjustments are checked. Flush the complete system with the proper fluid type and you are ready to go.
Our recommendations for servicing are every 20,000 miles for the average vehicle. Just as you maintain your engine by changing the oil and filter, don't forget about your transmission. This will keep your vehicle shifting smoothly and help prevent major repairs.
